Hi, I’m Brigette Coles
But you can call me Brig, or Brigo in true Australian spirit
I was born and raised in Perth, Australia
and I’m currently in Perth
You’ll find me eating anything Italian! Everything from the antipasto, pasta, bread, and in particular a margarita pizza, are to die for
And you’ll see me drinking a pinot noir in winter or a pina colada if I’m on a tropical island! When it’s the peak of summer here in Perth nothing is better than a glass of French rose
A sports moment I’ll never forget is hard to narrow down, I’ve been to so many! Some overseas highlights have been witnessing the Singapore F1 evening race which was more than spectacular, some football in Berlin and the Aussies play Ireland in Rugby in Dublin. Across in the US, enjoying an NBA match in Brooklyn, seeing the Rams v Eagles at the Colosseum in LA and the Vegas Knights ice hockey in Vegas was amazing. Although, I did really enjoy the excitement and crowd at a college basketball game (Georgetown) in Washington DC where Patrick Ewing was coaching!
Closer to home, being able to be in Melbourne at the MCG for the West Coast Eagles AFL grand final win against Collingwood in 2018 was something I’ll never forget. The match was so close, and the atmosphere was something I don’t think anything will match for a long time.
The sports venue you’ll have trouble getting me out of is also hard to pick! Lately I’m really enjoying some of the newer venues as things like the lighting, audio visual and sound systems are really enhancing the main event, whether it be sport or a concert! I was particularly impressed with the T Mobile arena in Vegas for this reason. Optus Stadium here in Perth really does have it all too, being a very new stadium (although I may be biased!). It’s great when you have a fantastic view no matter where you sit in a venue, and I think both of these stadiums do this really well
I idolise a few people, and they generally fall under the same categories of people that have achieved great things, are leaders in their field, have huge hearts and seem to be genuinely great people. Jamie Oliver, Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey are some names that come to mind. These people genuinely inspire me with the projects they take on and despite their success, continue to show great integrity and kindness, something which I believe is very important.
On the weekend you’ll find me spending time with my family, friends and little dog Winx (Jack Russell cross). You’ll find me up to all sorts of adventures and experiences ranging from heading away for a weekend down south, a great dinner out, heading to one of our great Perth beaches or one of the local museum exhibitions. I am always on the lookout for something new and different to do!
I’m always happy to talk about travelling. It has always been a passion of mine, the history, the culture, the food and the people I love it all! It’s for this reason I really enjoy cooking and travel shows that highlight different areas of the world and my travel wish list is forever growing!
From a personal perspective, I’ve always enjoyed learning new things and am particularly passionate in seeing others succeed and grow in the leadership roles I’ve been in. I never shy away from a challenge and believe that there’s always a solution to be found, I’m a true optimist at heart.
Something you may not know about me is I attended a school where volleyball was an actual subject! Being a volleyball school, I was lucky enough to have Olympians as coaches over the years, visit the Australian Institute of Sport and eventually play volleyball for Western Australia as a specialist server and setter. Getting MVP in Australia as part of our National School Sports team was something I worked hard for and was very proud I could achieve
Brigette would love to hear from you. Here are the details...
