We’re expanding our development operations, with Lincoln joining our team of developers! A lifelong and self-proclaimed techie, Lincoln joins the team ready to take his skills to the next level and learn as much as he can while doing so.
Have you always been a sports fan?
LH: I’m not I die-hard fan but I do follow the English Premier League and the A League here in Australia. My family is from near Chelsea, so that’s my EPL team and I grew up in on the Central Coast in New South Wales, Australia, so I follow the Central Coast Mariners in the A League. I tried to get into Aussie rules when I lived in Tasmania, but just couldn’t do it.
I’ve heard that you’ve pivoted from financial services to CRM, how did that come about?
LH: It’s a story! I’ve always been a techie and had an interest in the field, which was compounded when I joined the defence force and completed the equivalent of a technical diploma which focused a little more on engineering. Once I left the force, I was working in the same field until the opportunity arose to move down to Tasmania and work in banking, and I was there for over 2 years. After that, I worked for myself for a few years, we then moved again and I had somewhat of a coding background, but once I started applying for jobs, I realised I needed further study, which led me to a diploma of software engineering, which brings us to today!
How did you find out about the open role with EngageRM, and what drew you in?
LH: I saw the advert on LinkedIn, and the description sounded awesome. But as I was reading, I saw that the position was probably a little beyond my skill set but at the end of the listing, there was a line that mentioned if you didn’t meet all the criteria to apply because you might still fit. That line was what pushed me to apply, and I’m glad I did!
In general, what do you aim to achieve with the work that you will do?
LH: The first thing I’d like to do is be as productive as possible so I can contribute to the business quickly, I really want to bring in that value. My entire focus is to just get stuck in and do the best I can in this role. I also have experience as an IT Business Analyst and business improvement coach, so I love being involved with developing customer requirements and delivering performant solutions.
What excites you professionally at the moment?
LH: I’m really excited to learn off everyone within the team and take my skills to that next level. I’m open to whatever opportunities come my way within the business and to also refine my knowledge and skills on the Dynamics platform.
