A sports moment I’ll never forget is hard to pick, I love most sports and follow them closely, but I’d have to say any of the Hawthorn Grand Finals that I’ve been fortunate enough to watch live (and even the 2012 losing GF is very memorable). But in terms of big international sporting events, I just can’t go past Superbowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Definitely something for everyone’s bucket list as you get 3 rock concerts and American extravaganza at its best
The sports venue you’ll have trouble getting me out of is The Melbourne Cricket Ground due to its proximity to home, with so many good memories, and an amazing stadium that always brings a chill down your spine the first time you walk in each year
I idolise Xanana Gusmao and Nelson Mandela. Great thinkers who used their passion and intellect to change the world
On the weekend you’ll find me playing tennis at one of the three clubs I’m a member of or if it’s winter, I’ll hit the slopes. If there’s time for entertainment, I love spending time with friends and family and having a good chat and laugh. Maybe over a game of some sort and enjoying great food and wine, preferably at a beach location, I love the water. All other waking hours are spent working which I love as it’s rewarding to create something and bring other people with you on a journey. I have worked for myself since I was 20 years old. Completely unemployable now
I’m always happy to talk about Indonesia. I first travelled to Indonesia as a student in 1991 and fell in love with the people, culture, and language. I received an Arts degree in Indonesian in 1998 and unfortunately when business and Indonesian didn’t somehow merge, I just decided to travel there as often as possible. COVID has not been good for my language skills, but fortunately, there are a lot of Indonesians working at EngageRM and that should help me fill my Indonesian craving. Or as soon as flights post COVID open again, you’ll find me over there
