How the Women’s World Cup can inspire the moveable middle, with Lani Johnson
19 July 2023
Surprise! We’re back a little earlier than planned with a special edition series of The Engage Nation Podcast, covering all things Women’s World Cup. We’ll be talking to female leaders in and around women’s football from across the globe, and we’re kicking it off with a bang.
Meet Lani Johnson, she is the Digital Engagement Officer for the Office of Women in Sport and Recreation, and selected in the inaugural intake of the OUR GAME Women and Non-Binary Persons in Media Program.
Lani has been around football most of her life, and it’s something she’s incredibly grateful for, so it was only natural she’d work around the women’s game. Improving outcomes for all women in sport to provide them with the same opportunity she had is a key passion for Lani, which drives all the work she does today.
Show Highlights
- How the World Cup can push the moveable middle into bonafide football fans
- The stories that connect fans with the sport, and why Lani wants to share them
- What “legacy” means to Lani, and how sustainable investment is key to seeing the women’s game grow
Lani’s passion for the game is what drives this chat, we can’t wait for you to listen.
