Meet Dereck, the latest addition to our team and our newest Senior Developer! Some would say basketball is in Dereck’s blood, so the opportunity to work across our range of NBA clients was impossible to pass up. In his role, Dereck will contribute to our development team to support and build our platform.
Has sport been a significant influence for you?
DM: Basketball has been a massive passion of mine since I was a child, I’ve been playing regularly since I was in elementary school. I follow the NBA closely and am a massive Lakers fan, I’ve been following them since the finals where they played the Detroit Pistons, even though they didn’t win!
What sparked your interest in technology?
DM: My interest spurred from my love of games, whether it be a sports or video game, I’ve always enjoyed them. It was only natural to learn about how they are made, and that lead to picking up programming and further study in the IT space, then eventually CRM.
Once you heard about the opportunity with EngageRM, what drew you to it?
DM: For me, it was around the tech stack. The EngageRM platform utilizes the Microsoft Dynamics system which I have limited experience with, so the opportunity to broaden my skills and learn more about Dynamics appealed to me.
What are you aiming to achieve with the work you will do?
DM: I want to be a real asset to EngageRM and build upon my skills. There are so many people here who know so much about the platform and Dynamics, so I want to learn as much as I can from them and improve my abilities.
What excites you at the moment?
DM: The clients I’ll get to work with, and especially those in the NBA. Like I mentioned, I love the league and follow it closely so to be involved in helping them achieve their goals is exciting for me. Personally, I’m currently engaged and looking forward to getting married next year!
