Marvin’s passion for technology started in his childhood, and now he has turned that passion into a career as our CRM Data Specialist. As the newest member of our Professional Services team, Marvin will also work closely with the Development team to support our clients and boost our operations.
Has sport been a mainstay in your life?
MP: Yes! Basketball has been a passion of mine all my life, every weekend I would tune into the NBA and watch players like LeBron, Kobe, and Shaq to name a few. Even though I don’t play it anymore, I’m still up to date with the league and watch all the games I can.
Was working in the sports and entertainment industry a goal of yours?
MP: Before learning about EngageRM, I didn’t really know much about the technology side of the sports industry, I had no idea at all! My goals have focused on the technology sector, but now I get to marry two of my passions in my new role which is a goal I’ve now achieved.
Speaking of your goals, what do they look like in tech and CRM?
MP: Well, growing up I loved video games, and that’s where it all started. I quickly wanted to learn how to build my own games or systems and that passion led me to the technology industry and CRM more specifically. I’m very fortunate that I was able to find my passion and turn it into a career.
When you investigated the open role at EngageRM, what drew you to it?
MP: It’s more the data aspect of my role, that’s what I love doing. Whilst I was freelancing and working with different developers, I was tasked with more backend projects, which was my specialty, until I began working with Dynamics. The shift introduced me to power apps and a whole range of new tools to learn. That’s what drew me in to the opportunity with EngageRM, it enables me to continue working on my specialization whilst learning new skills at the same time.
What are you aiming to achieve with the work you will do?
MP: Two things stand out for me, first is I want to improve my skills so I can achieve my tasks and deliver them at a high level. Second is I want to work with the team to make sure our partners are supported and get the most out of the EngageRM platform.
What excites you at the moment?
MP: The opportunity for growth I now have! I’m still in the early stages of my career, so the ability to learn and develop my skills, especially in the data and analytics space, is really exciting for me.
