Hi, I’m Serena Galvez
But you can call me Rena
I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, United States
But/and I’m currently in Brisbane, Australia!
You’ll find me eating potatoes, they are by far the most diverse vegetable and they’re great in almost every form
And you’ll see me drinking coffee, it’s my favorite flavor. Back in the States I’d drink drip coffee, black without any sugar. Australia prefers espresso-based drinks, so I’ve really come around to a good oat cappuccino
A sports moment I’ll never forget is when LA Galaxy won their second straight MLS Cup in 2012 with Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane, and David Beckham. I was interning for the club and the energy in the stadium was electric. It sealed my desire to work in sports and entertainment for as long as I possibly can
The sports venue you’ll have trouble getting me out of is the STAPLES Center. It’s the most iconic arena in Los Angeles and I was fortunate enough to work inside the venue for almost 5 years. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart
I idolize my mom, she’s generous, loving, and an incredible mother and wife. She shaped my view of the world and my role in it
On the weekend you’ll find me watching movies, tv shoes, and documentaries with friends. We love to analyze the messages, discuss what we liked or didn’t, and theorize about future plots. Film is a great way to get to know someone and their viewpoints
I’m always happy to talk about salsa and bachata dancing. It’s a fun activity and requires the follower to be present in the moment and very aware. It also forces me to work on my patience, since the man leads and decides all the steps
Something you may not know about me is my mom’s name is Venus and I’m Serena! We’re less athletic and famous than the Williams sisters, and I’m not named after the GOA, Serena happens to be a family name
